Heitor Villa-Lobos - Modinha
The Bacchianas Brasileiras are a cycle
of pieces written in honour of J.S. Bach; the Aria No. 5 was arranged
by the composer for voice and guitar. In Distribuçào
de Flôres, an impressionistic sound-painting is combined with
ritual dance. The closest relationship to Brasilian folk-music can
be found in Modinha, the piece which gives its name to this CD.
